Have you heard? There’s a new search engine coming soon. It’s going to compete with Google! The new search is WireDoo, and it’s creator is MC Hammer. This is not a joke, it’s (2) legit.
WireDoo was announced at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco yesterday. What’s so special about it? It’s all about relational searches, not direct ones. The relationships that run deeper than keywords—a “deep search”.
What that means in normal English is now instead of getting results for something you searched for, you get results related to what you searched for.
According to Mashable, it goes like this:
Hammer explained a search for a car is not just about the car, but about the model, the mileage, the specs and even the zipcode (you likely want to buy from a local dealer). A search for a home is related to the surrounding community, schools, neighborhood condition and other related concerns.
The tagline “search once and see what’s related” makes sense, but is that even how people search? Google already uses keyword relations when it returns results to you. In the end you get results for what you searched for.
Hammer believes relational searching will benefit you more, and WireDoo is going to prove that to you. Is that really how Google can be brought down? Sure Google is in an uproar of controversy over upcoming privacy changes. But it’s still Google—you can’t touch this (sorry, I had to).
