Designed: December, 2000

Materials: 2 5x5’ Sheets of Baltic Birch

Challenge: To use up to a maximum of the above given materials in designing a modular workstation.

Solution: With functionality in mind, I felt that there were three important features that were necessary to be included: A large table surface with the option to incline, a large storage space to accommodate larger drawings, and a cupboard of some sort to hold various supplies. The overall design would be based on these three things, while at the same time involve some aspect of modularity, so that multiple units could be arranged in various sorts of configurations, thus fulfilling the modularity requirement.
