Challenge: To take an object in nature and 3Dimesionalize the first letter of its’ name, it’s entire name, and the object itself.

Solution: Using a spider as an object, I first took the letter “S” and 3Dimensionalized it by copying, pasting, rotating, and flipping it to make an 8-legged spider representation. This acted as the doorway to my S-P-I-D-E-R exhibit. Walking through the door you enter an white octagonal room with open rafters. Looking up, one sees a large web stretched across the roof. A light shines straight down from the roof, causing the web to cast a shadow on the un-obstructed floor. The letters S,P,I,D,E,R are hidden in the web so that they also cast shadows on the floor, spelling out ‘spider’. To 3Dimensionalize the spider, I created a large white and fuzzy 3D spider and attached it to the wall just beside the doorway, so you don’t see it until you turn around. This helps to add a surprise to the exhibit, and to help keep the floor unobstructed.
