Design Team: Ryan Majeau Designed: September/October 2001 Materials: Plastic and metal Challenge: To design a bike multitool Solution: Create a multitool that was incorporated into a product that you would actually use from day to day. Designing for the university commuter, the design team created a coffee cup holder that mounts to your bike either on the handlebars, or the bar under the seat. This would be a product that would be used everyday. Aside from holding a coffee cup, the cup-holder would house all the necessary tools needed in changing a flat tire, the top problem bike users run into. We wanted a product that would serve as a mutlitool, but would primarily serve a purpose other then servicing your bike. [back]
