Designed: January 2001 Materials: Injection molded plastic and foam Challenge: Take an object and design a package and point-of-purchase display for it Solution: The Shockwave case is a package used to not only display the walkman, but to act as a durable carrying case to protect the walkman during transport. The case houses both the walkman and headphones. The walkmans’ colors were used in the design of the case, and graphics were applied to the case to target a market of young adult to older teenager.
